1.Voters Decide: Elected or Appointed State School Board

TONIGHT (Monday, September 16th, from 6:30-8pm) at the Auburn First Baptist Church (127 E. Glenn Ave.)

The League of Women Voters of East Alabama is hosting a public program about the proposed amendment to the Alabama State Constitution that would require members of the state school board be appointed by the Governor rather than be elected to the position. Voters will see this proposed amendment on the March 3, 2020 ballot.

We have invited Tracie West, current Alabama State School Board Member for District 2, and Trisha Powell Crain, the statewide education reporter for AL.com, to join us in discussing the proposed amendment.

Doors open at 6:30, program begins at 7:00. This program is free and open to the public.

2.The Northwest Auburn Task Force met on September 10, 2019. Here are notes from that meeting by our Observer Corps leader, Bruno Ulrich.

3. Auburn's Short-Term Rental Task Force met on August 14th. Our own Bruno Ulrich is a citizen member of the Task Force and he has pulled together very important information regarding Short-Term Rentals (STRs). Check out these documents:
